The Counselling Team:
Richard Goodwin commenced his training in 2000 after a career in technology, including running his own IT business. He has a Bachelor of Theology (Carey College), majoring in pastoral care and counselling, a Masters in Counselling (Massey University) and is a member of the NZ Association of Counsellors. He has been a part of the Te Aroha Noa team since 2010 and currently works here on Mondays and Wednesdays. His other role as a chaplain at Manawatu Prison gives him an understanding and empathy for people grappling with really tough experiences in life. He particularly values working with couples and is undertaking advanced training in Gottman Relationship Therapy and also appreciates working with clients who want their faith and spiritual beliefs to be a part of their counselling.
Kirstie Brooking is passionate about working with young people however she connects well with all ages through her warm and friendly manner. She is currently in the third year of her studies towards a Bachelor of Counselling through Bethlehem Tertiary Institute.
